OXFORD, Miss. â€" The Ole Miss women's tennis team kicks off the fall season with two different tournaments this weekend. Most of the team is headed to the Debbie Southern Fall Classic hosted by Furman in Greenville, South Carolina, while some will head to the ITF Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Debbie Southern Fall Classic begins Friday and ends Sunday at the Mickel Tennis Center. The ITF Tournament begins this weekend with qualifying and concludes Oct. 1 at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Debbie Southern Fall Classic…
The Debbie Southern Fall Classic will feature players from some of the nation's top teams including Clemson, Florida State, Furman, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. The Tournament will have six singles flights and three doubles flights.

Headlining the contingent going to Furman is junior Tea Jandric and sophomores Anna Vrbenska and Alexa Bortles. Joining them will be Cameron Kriscunas, Allie Sanford and Brooke Stevens.
ITF tournament…
Seniors Arianne Hartono and Natalie Suk and freshman Sabina Machalova are headed to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the ITF Tournament. Hartono competed in this tournament last year reaching the second round of qualifying.
Rebels in the rankings…
Several Rebels earned spots in the newest Oracle/TA National Rankings. Senior Arianne Hartono is ranked No. 17 and senior Natalie Suk is ranked No. 32. After a solid freshman season, sophomore Anna Vrbenska earned a ranking of No. 91. The newest Rebel, Sabina Machalova is ranked No. 5 in the newcomer rankings. In doubles, Hartono and sophomore Alexa Bortles are ranked No. 6.
Head Coach Mark Beyers on the rankings…
"The rankings give the players an opportunity to pick up some early ranked wins and try to take that first step towards getting into the NCAA individual championships. The fact that we have that many people in the rankings, shows that we have some people capable of picking up some quality wins."
All American selections…
Looking ahead to the first major of the year, several Rebels were selected to compete in the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, which takes place Sept. 30-Oct. 8 in Pacific Palisades, California.
