Kranic Swings Into Main Singles Draw

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Freshman Karlo Kranic prevailed through singles qualifying on Day 2 of the 2018 ITA Men's South Regional, held at the Alabama Tennis Stadium, to highlight a group of Rebel victories.
Kranic, the top seed in the Qualifying Draw, was victorious over in-state foe Tom Cecchetto from Southern Miss 6-4, 6-2 and joins teammates Filip Kraljevic and Tim Sandkaulen in the Main Singles Draw which begins Saturday at 1 p.m.
Kraljevic and Sandkaulen each carry a national ranking into Saturday, with No. 52 and 14, respectively.
The rookie trio of Sebastian Rios, Jan Soeren Hain, and Simon Junk joined sophomore Cotter Wilson in Singles Consolation play, where all four triumphed. Junk battled through his match, downing Louisiana Lafayette's Kacper Dworak 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4).
Doubles play also begins Saturday, with each pair beginning swings at 9 a.m.
