Rebels shoot first round 302 (+14)
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Ole Miss women's golf wrapped up the first round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate this afternoon. The Rebels are tied for 9th after shooting a first round 302 (+14).
"It was a tough start this morning on the greens, we kept making the mistake of being on the wrong side of either the flag or the green on our approach shots," said assistant coach Drew Belt.
"We did some really good work after the round on distance control and ball flight issues. We are confident we know the right way to attack the golf course and we're hungry to get back out there and do better tomorrow."
Ellen Hutchinson-Kay paced the Rebels on day one, shooting a first round 75 (+3) and is tied for the team lead in pars with 13.
Julia Johnson and Conner Beth Ball both shot 75's and are tied for 27th with Hutchinson-Kay.
Second round begins tomorrow morning beginning at 10 a.m. CT. Ole Miss will be paired with players from UTSA and UC Davis.
