Rebels overcome sickness to shoot second round 291 (+3)
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Ole Miss women's golf didn't let the altitude get to them today as they turned in a much improved 3-over 291 as a team in the second round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate.
"Our team did a tremendous job in fighting back today after another rocky start," said assistant coach Drew Belt. "For a few players, it was a rough night with sickness, so I am very pleased with our fight through adversity and ability to make it 18 holes."
"You could see a little more pep in our step with our play, and we are happy to get back to the hotel and get some sleep after a long day."
Ellen Hutchinson-Kay paced the Rebels on day two with an even-par 72. The freshman leads the tournament with 27 pars and is tied for ninth overall.
Pi-Lillebi Hermansson moved up 24 spots on the leaderboard after an even-par 72, tying Hutchinson-Kay for the lowest round of the day for the Rebels. The junior, in her first tournament of the season, leads the team in birdies with seven.
Final round gets underway tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. Ole Miss will be paired with Denver and Tulsa.
