Rebels To Wrap Up CCB Invite Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –
 Ole Miss men's tennis picked up four wins in singles action Saturday at the Country Club of Birmingham, hosted by the University of Alabama. The tournament concludes Sunday, with both sets of doubles beginning at 9 a.m. and singles starting at 10:30 a.m. 
 
Rookie Jan Soren Hain slipped into the consolation bracket after falling 6-2, 6-3 to Tulane's Tim Ruetzal. Hain will face South Alabama's Samuel Serrano Sunday, who also carries a 2-1 record in tournament play, to conclude his weekend. 
 
Classmate Simon Junk picked up a consolation round victory, battling back from a 4-6 first set surrender to win 7-5, 10-8. Sophomore Cotter Wilson was also successful in his first match of the day, downing D. Faulkner from Belmont. 
 
Fellow freshman Sebastian Rios also took on a Belmont Bruin, building an advantage with a 6-4 lead before dropping a grueling 6-7 second set. He prevailed in the tiebreaker, 10-8.
 
Junk will next face in-state foe Jorman Reyes from Southern Miss, slated for a 10:30 a.m. first serve. Wilson takes on UAB's Fernando Varga, and Rios takes on yet another Bruin in Dawson Blankinship Sunday at noon.
 
Rios will be already be familiar with Blankinship, as he faces both he and Kelly in doubles action at 9 a.m. Sunday, pairing up with Wilson. Hain and Junk will face ETSU's Fontcuberta/Gonzalez.
