Senior Midfielder Looks to Repeat as Academic All-American
OXFORD, Miss. – For the second-consecutive season, Ole Miss midfielder/forward CeCe Kizer has been named a First Team Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 honoree, announced Thursday by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
as a first team honoree, Kizer advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. Last season, the Overland Park, Kansas native became the first player in Ole Miss history to be named an Academic All-American.
Nearing the completion of her final collegiate season, Kizer has once again demonstrated to be one of the elite attacking forces in collegiate soccer. The SEC leader in both goals and assists, the senior has led the Rebels to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons, with Ole Miss set to battle No. 25 Clemson on the road on Saturday.
