TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Ole Miss ended its stay at the SEC Men's Tennis Tournament Friday, with a 4-0 loss to the No. 2 seed, Mississippi State, in the quarterfinals at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.

Mississippi State, ranked No. 9, took the early momentum by winning the doubles point. After State won court one, Filip Kraljevic and Zvonimir Babic finished off a 6-1 win on court two, sending everyone to court three, where they were locked in a tight battle, 4-4. Fabian Fallert and Finn Reynolds had break point at 4-4, but the State duo held for 5-4. Fallert got down 15-40 on his serve, but they got it back to deciding point before State hit a down the line winner to clinch the doubles.

The Bulldogs carried the momentum over to singles where they won all six first sets. MSU went up 3-0 with straight set wins on courts six and three. They closed out the match with a straight set win on court five.

At the Net with Head Coach Toby Hansson…
"It was a very close doubles point that could have gone either way. Unfortunately we were not able to put enough pressure on them early in singles to change the momentum. Even though it didn't go our way today, we will take a lot of positives from this week and shift our focus to the NCAA Tournament."

Next up…
The Rebels now await the NCAA Championship selections. The 64-team bracket and host sites will be revealed May 1 at 4:30 p.m. CT. Fans can join the men's and women's teams at the indoor tennis center to learn where the Rebels will be going.
