Rebels Add Germany’s Simon Junk to Program

OXFORD, Miss. – With classes beginning Monday at Ole Miss, the Ole Miss men's tennis welcomed four new additions to the program, three of whom recently signed. First up is Simon Junk, who hails from Marpingen, Germany.

Junk is ranked Top 100 in the German Men's Rankings. In 2016, Junk finished third at the German Junior Championships, and is a five-time men's open regional champion in his state.

An outstanding student, Junk won the Pierre de Coubertin Award for special performances and commitment in the sports sector and the Economy Award for the best final exam in the economy sector.

"We are very excited to have Simon join the team this fall," head coach Toby Hansson said. "He is an athletic, all-court player and a great competitor. An accomplished student, Simon will add to our tradition of excellence in academics. He is a great addition to the program and we are looking forward to helping him develop the next four years."
