Road Games Bookend the Rebels’ SEC Slate
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Ole Miss men's basketball team found out the remainder of its 2018-19 schedule as the Southeastern Conference office released the conference slate Friday morning. The Rebels will open and conclude SEC play on the road, but have back-to-back home games three times throughout the conference schedule. Tip-off times and television designations will be released at a later date.
Ole Miss will kick off the 2019 calendar year with the start of conference play, traveling north to face Vanderbilt (Jan. 5). The Rebels and Commodores will square off to begin SEC play for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign when Ole Miss went into Memorial Gym and emerged with an 81-68 victory (Jan. 6, 2001).
Auburn makes the trip to Oxford for the Rebels' first SEC home game (Jan. 9). Heading to the weekend, Ole Miss renews its rivalry with Mississippi State by making the trip to Starkville (Jan. 12). Following the in-state matchup, the Rebels return to The Pavilion for consecutive home games versus LSU (Jan. 15) and Arkansas (Jan. 19). The SEC/Big 12 Challenge contest at home against Iowa State (Jan. 26) is sandwiched in between midweek conference road games at Alabama (Jan. 22) and Florida (Jan. 30).
Beginning the month of February, Kermit Davis and the Rebels host the Bulldogs for the rivalry's second matchup of the season (Feb. 2). Four days later (Feb. 6), the Aggies of Texas A&M trek to The Pavilion for a midweek contest. After back-to-back home games, Ole Miss plays a pair of road games at Georgia (Feb. 9) and Auburn (Feb. 13). The first of two games pitting the Rebels against the Missouri Tigers takes place in Oxford (Feb. 16). Heading east, Ole Miss battles South Carolina on a Tuesday night (Feb. 19).
Two weeks after the first contest between the programs, Ole Miss and Georgia meet again in The Pavilion (Feb. 23). The Rebels welcome Tennessee (Feb. 27) before heading to Arkansas (March 2) to kick off the month of March. In the final home of the season, Ole Miss hosts Kentucky (March 5).
