Rebels Ready for ITA Southern Regional

Competition Runs Oct. 17-22 in Auburn
OXFORD, Miss. – The temperatures may be dropping, but the competition is heating up as the Ole Miss Men's Tennis team embarks to the ITA Southern Regional Championships, hosted by Auburn Oct. 17-22.
Student-athletes from Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi programs will look to qualify for the Oracle ITA Fall Championships.
Draws and match times will be released later today at www.AuburnTigers.com and follow @OleMissMTennis for updates throughout the tournament.
Singles is best two-of-three sets with a 10-point breaker for the third set. The Qualifying Draw will begin on Thursday to earn the right to compete in the 64-person Main Draw beginning on Friday.
Doubles is an eight game pro set until the semifinals and final, which is two out of three sets with a 10-point breaker for the third.
Sophomores Jan Soren Hain, Simon Junk, Sebastian Rios, and junior Cotter Wilson begin in the singles Qualification draw on Thursday morning.
Senior Tim Sandkaulen, who is No. 25 in the ITA's national rankings, enters as the competition's No. 1 seed. He is joined by freshmen Lukas Engelhardt and Nikola Slavic in the Main draw, which starts Saturday.
On Friday, doubles play commences with three Rebel pairings on Friday afternoon. Sandkaulen will team up with Junk, rookies Engelhardt and Slavic compete together, and Soren Hain battles alongside Wilson.
The ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country. In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
