Rebels Sign Mississippi, Tennessee Standouts to Letters of Intent

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's golf head coach Chris Malloy is proud to announce Kye Meeks and Drew Miller as the newest members of the Rebel golf family. The two signed their letters of intent on Wednesday making their commitment to Ole Miss official.

"This is a great day for Ole Miss Golf," Malloy said. "These two young men will help us elevate our program for the next four years."

Meeks, a native of Walnut, Mississippi where he attends Walnut High School, will come to Oxford as the No. 1 ranked 2020 graduate in the state. For the second consecutive year, he won the MHSAA State Individual Championship this past April with a two-day score of 4-under (67-73). His 67 was the lowest round by any golfer at the state championship.

This fall, he collected two wins on the Southeast Junior Golf Tour, the Hattiesburg Country Club Junior and the Annandale Junior Classic. Meeks put together a top-3 finish at the Mississippi Junior Amateur this year along with two top-15 performances at the Press Thornton Future Masters and the Magnolia Amateur. He finished top five at the Southern Junior Championship.

"We are extremely excited to have Kye officially become a Rebel," Malloy said. "He has been a player that we have had on our radar for a few years now and is now developing like we hoped he would. He had a tremendous summer of tournament golf, and there is no doubt that you will hear his name for many years to come as a Rebel."

Miller, from Collierville, Tennessee, attends Briarcrest Christian School. He will come to Ole Miss the No. 67 ranked recruit by the AJGA. He was ranked as high as No. 18 after winning the 2018 Junior Jones Cup at Sea Island Golf Club. Miller led his high school to three regional championships and two state runner-up finishes, including taking home the TSSAA individual title in 2017.

He is a three-time individual champion at the Ronnie Wenzler Invitational and two-time individual champion at the Golf Capital of Tennessee Invitational. A 5-year letterman, Miller was named the 2017 Memphis Commercial Appeal Golfer of the Year. This summer, he qualified for the United States Junior Amateur, shooting a 68 at Jonesboro Country Club.

"It's nice to officially welcome Drew to the Ole Miss Golf family," Malloy said. "He committed to us at a very early stage, as he was one of the first to buy into our vision of what we want this program to become. All you have to do is look at Drew's resume to see that he is going to make a major impact on our program."
