Foster Nabs First Team All-SEC Honors, O’Connor Named All-Freshman

OXFORD, Miss. – The Southeastern Conference announced its postseason awards on Sunday, with Ole Miss junior Channing Foster being named First Team All-SEC, while forward Mo O'Connor was selected to the SEC All-Freshman team.

It is the fifth-straight year in which Ole Miss has had at least one representative on the All-SEC teams and the third-straight year with a First Team All-SEC honoree. It is also the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Rebels have had a player named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

After landing on the All-SEC Second Team both of her first two seasons, Foster broke through to the first team, recognizing the Murray, Kentucky native as one of the elite forwards in the league. Foster ranks fifth in the conference with 10 goals on the season, while adding in three assists as well. One of the most prolific players in Ole Miss history, Foster is the seventh Rebel to earn all-conference honors three times and will have a chance to become the second four-time All-SEC player for Ole Miss in 2020.

Playing in her first collegiate season at her hometown school after a standout career at Oxford High School, O'Connor was chosen as one of the top-11 rookies in the SEC by the league's coaches. O'Connor has scored twice in the first 18 matches of her college career, bagging her first SEC goal last week in the Rebels' 4-0 shutout of LSU.

Foster, O'Connor and the Rebels begin postseason action later today, facing off against Mississippi State in the first round of the SEC Tournament. The match, scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. CT in Orange Beach, Alabama, will be televised on the SEC Network.
