Tim Sandkaulen Prepares for ITA Fall Nationals in California

Rebel Senior Concludes Fall Season at Prestigious Competition, Nov. 6-10

OXFORD, Miss. – The best collegiate tennis players from across the country converge this week in Newport Beach, California at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, including Ole Miss men's tennis qualifier Tim Sandkaulen.
 
Matches begin Wednesday and continue through Sunday at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach Country Club and Newport Beach Tennis Club. The Fall Championships feature 128 singles players (64 men and 64 women) and 64 doubles (32 men's team and 32 women's teams) looking for national titles.
 
Follow the Tournament Central link provided for live scoring, live video, draws, schedule of events, lists of qualifiers and selection criteria. Sunday's singles finals will be shown live on ESPN3 and re-air on ESPNU with dates and times to be announced. Complete draws will be released on Tuesday.
 
A total of 40 men and 40 women earned automatic qualification in the singles draw based on their performance in a series of prior fall events (Oracle ITA Masters, Milwaukee Tennis Classic, ITA All-Americans, ITA Cup and ITA Regionals). Additionally, one Oracle Wild Card, two ITA Wild Cards and 21 at-large selections per gender received entry into the championships. The doubles championships provide 19 automatic qualifiers per gender, with one Oracle Wild Card, two ITA Wild Cards and 10 at-large selections completing the field.
 
Sandkaulen, who holds a No. 25 ITA plaudit, will begin play Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT in the Round of 64. The veteran earned the right to compete at Fall Nationals with a 10-3 record, claimed his first collegiate tournament title at the Ragin' Cajun Tennis Classic, and finished runner-up at the Crimson Tide Four-in-the-Fall competition.
