Men’s Tennis Adds to 2020 Roster with Former German National Champion

Lukas Engelhardt set to join the Rebels next fall from Augsburg, Germany
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Men's Tennis has already added its first addition for the 2019 fall slate, welcoming recent signee Lukas Engelhardt to the Rebel family.
Engelhardt, a product from Augsburg, Germany, brings an impressive resume to Oxford, including a U18 National Doubles title and a finish in the final 16 of the 2018 German Men's Championships, upsetting four higher-ranked individuals, one with a Top 50 status. Lukas competed in several matches for the German Junior National Team, and carries a German Men's National ranking of 107.
Engelhardt will also bring a dynamic presence in the classroom, graduating as one of the top students from Maria Ward Gymnasium in Augsburg.
"We couldn't be happier to have Lukas and welcome him to the Ole Miss family," Head Coach Toby Hansson said of his latest addition.
"He's a strong, tall, physical player and an extremely good competitor. He has great work ethic that will fit in perfectly with our program. He comes from a great family and is a strong student. We are excited to work with Lukas and to help him achieve his goals, both on and off the court."
