Rebels Picked for Middle-Table Finish by League Coaches
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss has been predicted to finish eighth in the Southeastern Conference as voted in the SEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
The Rebels will look to do in 2019 what they did in 2018. After being slotted at No. 7 in last season's preseason poll, Ole Miss went on to garner a tie for third place in the SEC table with an 8-3-1 conference record.
Texas A&M was tabbed as the preseason favorite to claim the SEC champion, with South Carolina, 2018 champ Vanderbilt and Tennessee rounding out the top four.
The Rebels return 14 letterwinners from the 2018 squad that helped lead Ole Miss to a second-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, while adding in a talented crop of 10 freshmen. The Rebels will play their second exhibition of the preseason at Central Arkansas on Friday before opening up the regular season at on Aug. 22, taking on North Alabama in Oxford.
