Women’s Golf Ranked in Golf Channel, Golfweek Preseason Polls

8/27/2019 | Women's Golf

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's golf earned spots in preseason polls by the Golf Channel and Golfweek. The Rebels come in as high as No. 18 in Golf Channel's poll, and sit 23rd according to Golfweek.

The Rebels are coming off the most successful season in program history, one in which they won their first ever SEC Championship. After back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championships, head coach Kory Henkes has established a new normal for the women's golf program at Ole Miss.

All five starters from last year's postseason run return this fall led by junior Julia Johnson, who finished runner-up individually at the SEC Championship this past April, the highest-finish by an Ole Miss golfer in program history at the conference championship.

The Rebels begin the new 2019-20 season when they travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational (Sept. 9-10).
