Rebels Host Four Matches at the Ole Miss Rifle Range
OXFORD, Miss. – After spending several weeks in the top eight nationally a season ago and welcoming back nine letterwinners, the Ole Miss Rifle team released its 2019-20 NCAA schedule Wednesday.
An experienced Ole Miss squad will face another challenging slate of opponents, which includes four home matches at the Ole Miss Rifle Range. The Rebels toe the line against six of the eight teams that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Rifle Championships.
The Rebels posted four of the program's top 10 aggregate scores in school history last season and look for its experienced lineup to continue posting quality marks.
Ole Miss begins the fall in Murray, Ky., in a neutral site match with UT Martin. It will be the first dual between the two schools since 2004.
The Rebels return to host a pair of Great America Rifle Conference and NCAA qualifying opponents Saturday, Oct. 26 with Army West Point and Saturday, Nov. 2 against West Virginia. The Ole Miss Rifle Range is located next to the Oxford Conference Center off Highway 7 and Sisk Avenue.
Ole Miss then treks to Lexington for two more GARC duals, first with hosts Kentucky Nov. 8 and following with visiting Akron Nov. 9.
Jacksonville State plays host to the Rebels in the final match of the fall on Nov. 23 in Alabama.
Ole Miss begins the winter portion of its schedule alongside NCAA qualifier Alaska Fairbanks on Jan. 11 in Columbus, Ohio. Last season, the Rebels outshot the Nanooks in mid-January.
The GARC slate continues as Ole Miss heads to Annapolis, Md., with matches against Navy on Jan. 17 and Nebraska Jan. 18.
North Carolina State then travels to Oxford for a league match on Saturday, Jan. 25.
The Rebels return to the road the next week to face the defending NCAA champions TCU on Feb. 1 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ole Miss welcomes GARC rival Memphis for the fourth and final home match of the season Feb. 15.
Postseason play begins the following weekend, Feb. 22 as the Rebels return to Jacksonville State for both teams' NCAA Qualifier match.
Conference bragging rights will then be on the line Feb. 28-29 as Ole Miss journeys less than 90 miles to Memphis for the GARC Championships.
The team aims to conclude 2019-20 with their second ever appearance at the NCAA Rifle Championships March 13-14 in Kentucky.
Times for all matches will officially be unveiled later, but home contests are tentatively scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT. The promotional schedule for all four home matches will be announced later.
