LAFAYETTE, La. – Senior Ole Miss men's tennis standout Tim Sandkaulen continued his early season success with two victories at the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic on Friday.
Sandkaulen, the No. 25 ITA preseason ranked singles player, advanced to the semifinals in his second tournament in as many opportunities this fall.
The Monchengladbach, Germany product dispatched Conrad Russell of Rice, 6-0, 6-2 in the opening round at the Cajun Courts.
The second round proved more difficult, but Sandkaulen was up to the task. After falling to Arizona State's Christian Lerby in the first set, 7-5, Sandkaulen regrouped for identical 6-2 winners in sets two and three.
Freshman Lukas Engelhardt was forced to retire in his first match of the day, trailing 3-1. With the scratch, Ole Miss withdrew from the doubles competition.
However, Sandkaulen will still face Oklahoma State's Emile Hudd at 11 a.m. CT in Saturday's semifinal. Live video and complete draws can be found at the links provided.
