Rifle Welcomes Newest Signee

OXFORD, Miss – The Ole Miss rifle team announced the signing of M'Leah Lambdin, the first in the recruiting class of 2021.

Lambdin is a standout shooter from Granbury, Texas, with a plethora of experience at the high school and national level, competing in several USA Shooting sanctioned events. She was a member of the Granbury High School Marine Corps JROTC, winning state championships in 2017 and 2019. Lambdin also competed with GHS's 2018 and 2019 National Championship teams at the JROTC Air Rifle Championships and was a member of the Texas State Rifle Association Teams that won the Overall National Team Championship titles in Conventional and Metric 3-Position at the 2019 NRA Championships.

In 2017, Lambdin qualified as an individual for the National Junior Olympics in air rifle and each year since then, she has qualified for the event in both smallbore and air rifle disciplines. Lambdin was also a member of the Randle International Women's Team and the Drew Cup International Junior Team in 2017.

At the 2019 Winter Airgun Championships, she competed with several members of the current Ole Miss team. Lambdin placed second among the J2 division with a score of 1240.4 and finished 17th overall. Her air rifle score of 623.7 was the top score on day two of the 2020 Army Junior National Championships, where she placed sixth overall in the air rifle event.

"I am very excited that M'Leah chose Ole Miss," said head coach Marsha Beasley. "M'Leah is an excellent competitor who has demonstrated her commitment to rifle. I believe she will fit in exceptionally well and be a great teammate."

The Granbury native has also seen success off the range. In high school, she was a member of the National Honors Society and Marine Corps JROTC and won the Women Marines Association Award for Outstanding Cadet in 2019. Heading into her junior year, Lambdin and the GHS squad took home second place at the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl.

"I picked Ole Miss because of how connected I felt to the campus when I visited," said Lambdin. "Between the beautiful campus and amazing coaching staff, I felt that it would be a great fit for me."

Lambdin will join the Rebels next fall with her sights set on obtaining both a bachelor's and master's degree in business administration.
