Ole Miss Splits Matches with Auburn

Rebels Win Four Matches Versus Tigers
ATHENS, Ga. – The Ole Miss Rebels won two matches in both singles and doubles against the Auburn Tigers at day two of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships on Saturday.
Ole Miss won four of eight matches against SEC West foe Auburn. The Rebels won the majority of doubles matches against the Tigers. The two teams are even in overall matches this season winning six each through two events.
In doubles, the Rebels defeated the Tigers for the second time this season. Tim Sandkaulen and Cotter Wilson defeated Auburn's Maxwell Giddens and Tyler Stice, 8-5, to earn their first win as a team this season. Simon Junk earned his first win of the year partering with Florida's Brian Berdusco. Junk and Berdusco won in strong fashion, 8-3, against Auburn's Spencer Gray and Tim Dollman. Gray and Dollman defeated Jan Soren Hain and Cotter Wilson 8-3 on October 2nd.
In singles, Tim Sandkaulen earned a dominant victory over Auburn's Tad Maclean 6-1, 6-1. With the straight-set win, Sandkaulen improved to 5-3 this season. Brady Draheim won his second singles match of the fall by beating the Tiger's Maxwell Giddens 7-5, 6-2. Giddens, a freshman, was the No. 8 national recruit in the class of 2020. To conclude the day, Cotter Wilson narrowly lost to Auburn's Spencer Gray in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Yesterday, Wilson won in three sets after losing the first set to Georgia's Baptiste Anselmo.

Ole Miss will face Georgia in the final day of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships tomorrow. The Rebels and Bulldogs will rematch Friday's contest at 9 a.m. CT.
