Record-High Seven Tabbed ITA Scholar Athletes for Men’s Tennis

The Rebels were also dubbed with the ITA Team Academic Award

TEMPE, Ariz. --  In addition to earning Team All-Academic Recognition, Ole Miss Men's Tennis has dubbed a program-record seven Rebels as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athletes.
 
To be named an ITA Scholar Athlete, one must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the most recent academic year, and be institutionally eligible. To be named an All-Academic Team, the squad must have a collective grade point average of 3.2 or better (on a 4.0 scale) and factor in all varsity letterwinners from the academic year. 
 
Junior Cotter Wilson is a three-time Scholar-Athlete, joined by repeat selections senior Tim Sandkaulen and sophomore Simon Junk. Also earning his second Scholar Athlete plaudit is junior Finn Reynolds, who was honored in 2018 as a first-semester freshman. 
 
First-time winners include the rookie duo of Lukas Engelhardt and Nikola Slavic, and sophomore Jan Soren Hain
 
The honor is the second academic claim for Junk this season, was named SEC Men's Tennis Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year back in May.
 
The previous program-best was five Scholar Athletes back in 2015, and marks the fourth consecutive Team All-Academic Award for the Rebels and their 14thoverall. 
 
Ole Miss' collective 3.95 spring GPA was the highest team GPA in recorded history, and 100% of the team made Honor Roll, while 75% of the roster earned a perfect 4.0 for the semester. The Rebels boast an overall cumulative GPA of 3.74.
