Rebels to begin tournament play Oct. 5

OXFORD, Miss. – Head women's golf coach Kory Henkes unveiled the Rebels' fall tournament schedule Thursday, as the program gears up for another competitive season and two appearances on national television.

"The team is excited to compete this semester," Henkes said. "We all want to return to competition which is what we love the most.

"The three tournaments we have lined up will allow our team to play against some of the best teams and players in college golf. We are thankful the SEC is allowing the student-athletes this opportunity and we cannot wait to tee it up."

In accordance with SEC COVID-19 guidelines, schools may compete in up to three team events involving only SEC members or non-conference teams from the geographic region of the SEC school.

The Rebels tee off the season at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 5-7) in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The 54-hole stroke play tournament will feature all 14 SEC women's golf programs and will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. each day of the tournament.

Ole Miss is no stranger to Blessings Golf Club, as the site hosted the 2019 NCAA Championships, where the Rebels finished tied for 14th overall.

Next up for the Rebel will be The Ally (Oct. 19-21) in West Point, Mississippi, at Old Waverly Golf Club. The field will include all 14 SEC teams and Southern Miss. The Rebels last played at Old Waverly in the 2018 Magnolia Invitational, where they placed fourth as a team.

Ole Miss will wrap up its fall season at the East Lake Cup (Oct. 26-28) in Atlanta, Georgia. The prestigious tourney features three other top-ranked women's programs (Florida, South Carolina and Texas) and will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel.

Modeled after the NCAA Golf Championships, the opening round of stroke play at the East Lake Cup will crown an individual champion to then determine seeding for the concluding two days of match play.

Ole Miss returns six letterwinners from last year's squad that won a program-best four tournament titles, including All-American Julia Johnson and All-SEC selection Kennedy Swann
