Lithén and Reynolds Advance to ITA All-American Doubles Round of 16 Qualifying

John Hallquist Lithén also Earns Qualifying Singles Victory
TULSA, Okla. – Ole Miss earned four victories at the ITA All-American Championships Qualifying on Monday as John Hallquist Lithén won in singles and reached the Round of 64 in singles and Round of 16 in doubles alongside Finn Reynolds. Lithén and Reynolds will compete for a spot in the Doubles Main Draw at 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday.
Lithén earned two victories in collegiate doubles on Monday partnering alongside 2021 All-American and former No. 1-ranked Reynolds. In their first match, the Rebel duo defeated Florida State's Loris Pourroy and Sebastian Arcila 6-2, 6-4. They then followed up their Round of 64 victory by grinding out a split-set decision in a super tiebreaker in the Round of 32. After taking the first set, 6-4, over Santa Clara's Guillaume Dalmosso and Arthur Neuhaus, the Rebel duo dropped the second set 3-6. Lithén and Reynolds willed their way to an 11-9 tiebreak victory and earned a spot in the Round of 16 of Qualifiers. A victory tomorrow versus Princeton's Karl Poling and Damian Rodriguez puts the Rebs tandem in the Doubles Main Draw.
Simon Junk and Nikola Slavic also competed in doubles, earning a victory in the Round of 64 versus Georgia Tech's Keshav Chopra and Chen Dong, but falling in the Round of 32 to Florida's Abedallah Shelbayh and Mattias Siimar.
In singles, Lithén earned a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory versus VCU's Charles Bertimon to advance to the Round of 64 in the Qualifying Draw. Lithén next plays Stanford's Alexandre Rotsaert at 8 a.m. CT tomorrow
Junk's singles tournament run came to an end as he fell in straight sets to Tennessee's Shunsuke Mitsui on Monday.
