Lithén and Reynolds Qualify for Main Doubles Draw at All-American Championships

Ole Miss Duo Wins in Super Tiebreaker to Advance through Qualifiers
TULSA, Okla. – Rebels John Hallquist Lithén and Finn Reynolds won their third doubles match at the ITA All-American Championships in qualifying on Monday to reach the Main Draw. The Ole Miss tandem will compete next in the Round of 32 at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
Lithén and Reynolds willed their way to victory versus Princeton's Karl Poling and Damian Rodriguez. Poling and Rodriguez put forth a strong first set, taking the first 6-2 versus the Rebels. Lithén and Reynolds rebounded to win the second set, 6-4, and force a super tiebreaker. The Rebels edged out the Tigers, 10-7, to win the super tiebreak, take the match and earn a spot among the 32-team ITA All-American Championships Doubles Main Draw. Lithén improved to 3-0 in his collegiate doubles career and Reynolds has now won 49 of 67 career doubles matches (10-2 record in tournament play).
Lithén and Reynolds will face Oregon's ITA Preseason No. 55 Ivailo Keremedchiev and Jesper Klov-Nilsson at 4 p.m. CT tomorrow.
Lithén's singles run came to an end on Tuesday in the Round of 32 of qualifiers. Lithén earned a 6-4, 6-0 straight-set victory in the Round of 64 versus Stanford's Alexandre Rotsaert prior to falling to Auburn's Tad Maclean in two close sets.
Ole Miss will have two student-athletes in the Singles Main Draw, Reynolds and Nikola Slavic. In the round of 64, No. 4 seed Reynolds will face James Madison's Holden Koons at 11:30 a.m. CT and Slavic will meet Denver's James Davis at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
