Rebels Add Hays to 2022 Signing Class
OXFORD, Miss – Building on the successes of this fall and the past season, head coach Marsha Beasley continues to bring top talent to Oxford. On Friday, Ole Miss rifle announced Julianna Hays as the newest addition to the team in the class of 2022.
Hays is a talented shooter from Maplewood, Minnesota, with a strong resume that includes experience at the national and international level. Just last month, Hays competed in Lima, Peru, at the ISSF Junior World Championship with a pair of current Rebels. One of six chosen to represent the United States, the Minnesota native placed 24th in the 50m three-position event with a score of 1154 and 36th in the 50m prone event with a 606.5.
Hailing from the North Star State, Hays continues the Minnesota to Oxford pipeline and already has a Rebel connection, shooting on the same club team as current senior Abby Buesseler, the Minnesota Centershots, and training with coach Bill Buesseler.
Hays has been a team captain the past three seasons and helped guide the Centershots to an NRA Sectional Team state title in 2021 and a CMP Minnesota State Championship in 2020. This past spring, she was the Minnesota Junior Olympic Champion in both smallbore and air rifle and placed first in her age division at the National Junior Olympic Championship event in smallbore.
"I fell in love with the campus and the town when I visited," said Hays. "Out of all the other schools I visited, I felt the most at home with this team and coaches."
Hays is set to join the Rebels next fall.
