Women’s Tennis Announces 2022 Schedule

First Home Dual Match Set for Jan. 21 Versus Memphis
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis prepares for a full slate of matches in 2022 including 20 potential spring matches as released on Wednesday.
Ole Miss is set to return to the court in two months, following fall tournament action. In the fall, the Rebels compiled an overall 44-34 record in singles and earned a 27-21 record in doubles. Ole Miss players competed in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, Ole Miss Fall Invite, ITA All-American Championships, ITA Southern Championships, Roberta Alison Classic (Alabama), ITA National Fall Championships and at the John Cade Invitational (Mississippi State). Tiphanie Fiquet competed on the ITF Pro Circuit as well, in the W25 Fort Worth, W25 Redding, W15 Lubbock and W25 Austin events. Fiquet stood out for the Rebels this fall, claiming the ITA Southern Region singles title and winning the doubles title at ITF Lubbock. Rebels Ludmila Kareisová and Kelsey Mize placed runners-up in doubles in the ITA Southern Region and competed at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego along with Fiquet. ITA Preseason No. 27 Sabina Machalova led the Rebels with nine singles victories and Kareisová, a freshman, led the team with nine doubles wins.
The Rebels will start off the spring with their only non-dual match of the 2022 regular season. Ole Miss will compete at the San Diego Invitational from Jan. 14 to 16 versus multiple other programs.
The first home match for the Rebels in 2022 will be a dual versus Memphis on Jan. 21. The Rebels will then host North Alabama for a home doubleheader on Jan. 23. Ole Miss next competes on the road through February before returning home for the SEC home opener versus LSU on March 11.
The Rebels will return to ITA Kickoff-Weekend on Jan. 29-30 to compete versus Michigan in Atlanta. The Rebels played at host site Georgia Tech in their final match of the 2021 season at NCAA Regionals. If the Rebels advance they will square-off versus either Georgia Tech or Old Dominion for a place in the ITA National Indoor Tournament.
Ole Miss is scheduled to play all 13 SEC conference matches in succession, beginning on March 4, and leading up to the SEC Championships beginning April 19 in Gainesville, Florida.
The final home match of the 2021-22 season is scheduled for April 10 versus Arkansas.
The Rebels will seek entrance into the NCAA Championships in back-to-back seasons starting with NCAA Regional action from May 6-8. The NCAA Championships final site will be held at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois. from May 16-29.
