Four Rebels Named All-Americans

Horvath Named CRCA Rookie of the Year

OXFORD, Miss. – Following a third place team finish as the 2021 NCAA Rifle Championships, four members of the Ole Miss rifle team earned a combined nine All-American honors from the College Rifle Coaches Association.
 
Two Rebels received three accolades apiece. Lea Horvath earned a trio of All-American honors after a stellar start to her Ole Miss career. The freshman was named to the CRCA's Aggregate First Team, Smallbore First Team and Air Rifle First Team. After finishing third individually in smallbore and air rifle at the NCAA championship last weekend, Horvath also was named Rookie of the Year.
 
Sophomore Kristen Derting also garnered three honors, the first of her career. Derting landed on the CRCA's Smallbore First Team, posting the ninth-best average in the NCAA this season, while receiving second team laurels in air rifle and aggregate.
 
Erin Walsh secured a second team nod in smallbore from the CRCA and was an honorable mention in the combined average as well. Martina Gratz also made an immediate impact in her freshman season, securing CRCA Honorable Mention honors in air rifle.
 
Ole Miss also placed 10 members of its team on the CRCA's Scholastic All-American list. Receiving honors were Abby Buesseler, Sophia Cuozzo, Derting, Gratz, Horvath, Kamilla Kisch, Claire O'Neel, Megan Taylor, Walsh and Jillian Zakrzeski.
