Rebels Welcome Tinsley to Oxford

OXFORD, Miss – Head coach Marsha Beasley announced the addition of Katelyn Tinsley to the Ole Miss rifle 2021 recruiting class.

"We are delighted to announce that Katelyn will be a part of Ole Miss rifle," said Beasley. "She is passionate about rifle and Ole Miss. We believe she will be a valuable team member and look forward to working with her."

A four-year letterwinner at Fairfield High School in Goshen, Indiana, Tinsley looks to add depth to an Ole Miss lineup that is fresh off a third-place finish at the 2021 NCAA Rifle Championship. She has excelled in both disciplines during her high school career, claiming state runner-up honors with her team in smallbore and air rifle in 2020 and 2021. Individually, she is a three-time Junior Olympic qualifier and was named NRA Distinguished Expert in smallbore and air rifle.

Off the range, Tinsley is class Vice President and a member of both student council and National Honor Society. At Ole Miss, she plans to major in forensic chemistry.

"In June of 2019, I got the amazing opportunity to work with JP (Jean-Pierre Lucas) at a clinic in Georgia," said Tinsley. "I learned so much from him and saw a lot of improvement, which is originally what got me interested in becoming a Rebel. Once I got to campus, I decided that Ole Miss was the place for me. The community in Oxford just feels like home, and I'm really excited for my opportunity to further my athletic and academic career."

Tinsley will join the Rebels next fall, along with incoming freshman M'Leah Lambdin.
