Foster, Orkus and Stackpole Honored

KANSAS CITY โ€“ Following a successful 2020-21 campaign that included the program's second-ever Sweet 16 appearance, three Rebels were named to All-Region Teams by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.
ย
Channing Foster and Ashley Orkus were named first-team all-southeast region, and Haleigh Stackpole received third-team honors. The three honorees are tied for the most in a single season in program history, with the 2015 team that also made a Sweet 16 run. Further, it is the fourth straight year and eighth time in the Matt Mott era that Ole Miss has had at least one all-region honoree.
ย
Foster received first-team laurels for the first time in her prolific Ole Miss career. She becomes the fourth player in program history to earn all-region distinction three times in her career. The Murray, Kentucky, product found the back of the net five times during the split season and added two assists. Further, all five of the senior's goals scored this season were game-winners, which ranked first in the SEC and tied for second in the nation. The all-region honors are another impressive mark on Foster's resume that includes four All-SEC nods and 35 career goals in a Rebel kit.
ย
Orkus continued her breakout season, garnering the first all-region recognition of her career. The junior goalkeeper adds the first-team honors to her trophy case that already includes First-Team All-SEC honors and the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year title. Orkus ranked among the nation's best in goal this season, logging over 1600 minutes, tallying seven shutouts and recording 85 saves. The Vestavia Hills, Alabama, native also assisted on three goals in the fall, proving that she is a weapon anywhere on the pitch. Orkus became the first keeper in SEC history to record two assists in a match, posting two in the Rebels' 4-3 victory over Georgia, and she was the first Rebel to earn TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week laurels, doing so earlier this May.
ย
Stackpole also earned the first all-region nod of her career, landing on the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Third-Team. The junior midfielder helped lead a high-powered Ole Miss offense. She was tied as the Rebels' second leading scorer with four goals and led the SEC and ranked 12th nationally with eight assists. Stackpole was also one of four Rebels to earn SEC weekly honors, claiming offensive player of the week after recording her first career brace in Ole Miss' 3-1 derby victory over Memphis.
