Rebel Golfer Recognized for Impact on the Oxford Community
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss men's golfer Jack Gnam was named to the SEC Community Service Team, the conference office announced Friday. For doing his part in helping out the local community, the Ridgeland, Mississippi, native earned the recognition for the first time in his career.
Gnam has participated in several community service activities. He helped lead the athletic department's Adopt-A-Basket initiative, which has donated 150 Thanksgiving baskets to families in need throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University Community throughout the past two years. Gnam assisted in Feed The Sip as a part of the Food Sustainability pillar of the Stronger Together MS Initiative, helping fill bookbags with non-perishable food items to donate to children in Tunica County and Quitman County. He also represents his fellow Ole Miss student-athletes by serving as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
Gnam played in eight tournaments throughout his junior season, holding a 73.16 stroke average that ranked second on the team. Making his debut in the fall, he tied for 11th at the Vanderbilt Legends Collegiate (Oct. 25-27) with a career-low 205 (65-70-70). His opening round 65 (-6) was his best round as a Rebel. Gnam ended the 2020-21 campaign by leading Ole Miss in birdies (12) and tying for 30th at the NCAA Stillwater Regional (May 17-18).
