Ashley Orkus Tabbed to TDS Preseason Best XI First Team

Rebel Senior Heralded as Top Keeper in the Nation
LONG BEACH, Calif. โ Ole Miss senior keeper Ashley Orkus was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Preseason Best XI First Team on Tuesday, recognizing the Rebel shot stopper among the nation's elite.

The honor comes just a few short months after being named to the TDS postseason Best XI First Team, having helped carry Ole Miss to the second NCAA Sweet 16 in program history.

The unanimous selection for the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year, Orkus also received First Team All-SEC honors in 2020 after leading the conference in saves and clean sheets with 85 and seven, respectively. The Vestavia Hills, Alabama, native showed out when it mattered most, making seven penalty shootout saves to lead Ole Miss to NCAA Tournament wins over Bowling Green and No. 8 national seed USC.

Orkus and Ole Miss kick off the regular season on Thursday, hosting ETSU at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium at 6 p.m. CT. Admission to all regular season home matches is free to the public, with capacity restored to 100% for the 2021 campaign.
