Rebel Duo Recognized for Second Straight Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second consecutive year, Ole Miss' Channing Foster and Ashley Orkus have been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, announced Thursday by the Missouri Athletic Club.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the nation's National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

Foster and Orkus are two of six SEC players recognized on the watch list, joining Arkansas's Parker Gions and Anna Podojil and Texas A&M's Barbara Olivieri and Karlina Sample.

Entering her fifth and final season in Oxford, Foster ranks as the SEC's active leading scorer with 35 goals in her prolific career. A four-time all-conference performer, Foster garnered her first All-America nod last season after bagging five goals, all of which were game-winners.

Also a 2020 United Soccer Coaches All-American, Orkus also brought home TopDrawerSoccer Best XI First Team laurels and was unanimously voted as the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year. A year ago, Orkus led the conference with 85 saves and seven clean sheets, while registering a 0.825 save percentage.

Ole Miss kicks off the regular season tonight, hosting ETSU at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium at 6 p.m. CT. Admission to all regular season home matches is free to the public, with capacity restored to 100% for the 2021 campaign. For fans unable to attend, the match will be streamed on SEC Network +.
