Rebel Senior Named to Preseason Watch List for Second Straight Year
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's golfer Julia Johnson was named to the 2021 ANNIKA Award Watch List on Friday, as announced by Golf Channel and Golfweek.
This marks the second consecutive year that the senior golfer has appeared on the award's preseason watch list, and Johnson stands as one of just 20 golfers in the nation to make the list this year.
The ANNIKA Award is awarded annually to the most outstanding women's college golfer, as voted on by players, coaches and media.
Last season, Johnson helped lead the Rebels to Ole Miss' first ever women's team title in school history, posting a team-low stroke average of 71.34 and having Top-5 finishes in half of the team's 10 event schedule for 2020-21.
Johnson also saw herself earn 2020-21 first-team WGCA All-America honors, as well as earning All-SEC honors for the fourth time of her career at Ole Miss. With her earning All-American recognition the second time of her career, Johnson now sits as the only Ole Miss women's golfer to be a multi-time All-American.
Johnson and Ole Miss are set to begin their 2021 fall season Sept. 13 when the team will travel to Lake Elmo, Minnesota, for the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
