Rebels Win Six Matches at First Day of Ole Miss Fall Invite

No. 69 Tiphanie Fiquet defeats Georgia’s No. 19 Lea Ma in Singles
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis earned three victories in singles versus Georgia, two victories in doubles versus Kansas State and one singles victory versus Kansas State at Day One of the Ole Miss Fall Invite on Friday. The Ole Miss Fall Invite is set to run through Sunday at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
Tiphanie Fiquet stood out for the Rebels on Friday, earning victories in both singles and doubles. In singles, ITA Preseason No. 69 Fiquet earned a straight-sets victory over Georgia's No. 19 Lea Ma, 6-3, 6-1. Fiquet faced off against Ma on February 26 at home and led 6-3, 4-1 prior to their individual match going unfinished. In doubles, Fiquet and Ludmila Kareisová won 7-5 versus Kansas State's Dinara Alloyarova and Anna Turco. Fiquet travels to Texas tomorrow for the ITF W15 Lubbock beginning on Monday.
Anäelle Leclerq-Ficher and Elysia Pool also earned wins versus Bulldog opponents, both claiming wins in three sets. Pool defeated Mai Nirundorm 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 and Leclerq-Ficher defeated Alee Clayton 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. Leclerq-Ficher won her Ole Miss singles debut.
Kelsey Mize dominated her singles match versus Kansas State's Manami Ukita, winning 6-2, 6-0.
Rachel Krzyzak won her doubles debut match, patterning alongside Lillian Gabrielsen. Krzyzak and Gabrielsen earned a 6-3 victory over the Wildcats' Rosanna Maffei and Manami Ukita.
Other notable results from the first day of hidden-dual competition included all four Georgia teams earning victories in doubles and Alabama's Loudmilla Bencheikh earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory versus Kansas State's No. 114 Karine-Marion Job.
Ole Miss next competes tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT in doubles competition versus Alabama opponents. The Rebels will face Kansas State opponents in singles directly following the conclusion of doubles.
