Tiphanie Fiquet Readies for ITF W15 Lubbock

Fiquet to Compete in Both Singles and Doubles
OXFORD, MISS. – Ole Miss Rebel Tiphanie Fiquet returns to the ITF pro circuit for the W15 Lubbock West Texas Pro Tennis Open. Fiquet is set to compete in the first round of the main draw of doubles Tuesday followed by singles Tuesday or Wednesday (draw dependent).
The West Texas Pro Tennis Open will be held at the McLeod Tennis Center on the campus of Texas Tech University. The event runs through Sunday, Oct. 3.
Fiquet will compete first in doubles on Tuesday. She is partnering alongside Texas' Fernanda Labraña for the event. Labraña is a member of the defending national champion Longhorns team. Fiquet enters the event ranked No. 34 in the ITF Doubles Rankings. Their opponent will be revealed prior to the match when draws are finalized.
Fiquet will face Texas' Kylie Collins in the first round of the main draw in singles on Tuesday or Wednesday (draw dependant). Collins, also a member of the Longhorn's 2021 championship team, currently ranks No. 505 in the ITF Singles Rankings.
Fiquet heads back to Texas after competing at the ITF 125 Fort Worth last week. She reached the first round of the main draw, falling to Argentina's Maria Lourdes Carlé. Fiquet earned two straight-set victories in qualifying play.
Fiquet performed exceptionally well at the Ole Miss Fall Invite, earning two victories on day one of the event on Friday, Sept. 24. Preseason ITA No. 69 Fiquet upset No. 19 Lea Ma from Georgia in a lopsided singles victory. Fiquet defeated Ma 6-3, 6-1. She also earned a win in doubles alongside Ludmila Kareisová, defeating Kansas State's Dinara Alloyarova and Anna Turco, 7-5.
Fiquet looks to win her first career ITF singles event. She currently ranks a career-best No. 116 in the ITF Singles Rankings and is also No. 739 in the WTA Singles Rankings, one shy of her career-high of No. 738.
