Men’s Tennis Signs Top-100 Junior Isac Strömberg

Prospect is a Two-Time European Junior Championships Quarterfinalists
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's tennis adds Swedish youth international Isac Strömberg to its growing international-based roster as announced on Monday. Strömberg plans to enroll in Fall 2022.
Strömberg, a Swedish youth national champion in both singles and doubles, represented his home nation at the 2017 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Hungary. He has also placed individually as a quarterfinalist in the European Junior Championships (2021 18U and 16U in 2018). Current ATP World No. 31 Carlos Alcaraz Garfia claimed the U16 crown in 2016.
Past champions of the U18 European Junior Championships include Stefanos Tsitsipas (2016), Mikael Ymer (2015), Karen Khachanov (2013), Roberto Carballés Baena (2011), Damir Džumhur (2010), Robin Söderling (2004), Carlos Moya (1994) and Ivan Lendl (1978).
Strömberg, Sweden's top-ranked junior prospect, has a career-high ITF Junior Ranking of world No. 94 (Aug. 2021). His 13 UTR ranks among collegiate tennis' elite.
Strömberg has won four ITF Junior titles in his career, three in singles and one in doubles. In 2021 he won the J3 Neunkirchen and J3 Bruchkoebel singles titles on Clay in Germany. In 2020 Strömberg won the J4 Malmo doubles title on hardcourt in Sweden. In 2018 he claimed the ITF Roskilde singles title indoors on hardcourt in Denmark. He has compiled a career ITF Junior record of 27-8 in singles and 5-5 in doubles.
"We are really excited to have Isac joining the team in the fall," Assistant Coach Kalle Norberg said. "Isac is one of the top juniors in Sweden with a very solid baseline game. He had a very successful junior career and he will be a great addition to the team."
A native of Åkersberga, Stockholm, Sweden, Strömberg graduates from Österåker Gymnasium this spring.
