Ole Miss Hoops Dazzles Oxford at Square Jam 2022

Annual Fan Event Held on The Square for the Eighth Time
The tipoff event – emceed by head coaches Yolett McPhee-McCuin and Kermit Davis – featured a complete basketball court laid down on The Square in front of City Hall, complete with lighting, sound system and video board. Included in the festivities were a game of Knockout, a skills showcase, a three-point competition and a dunk contest that featured celebrity judges Bob Wischusen, Dan Orlovsky and Kris Budden of ESPN; Sandy and John Black; and former Ole Miss men's basketball student-athlete, John McBride.
Ole Miss men's basketball senior Robert Allen took the crown in Knockout, fellow senior Tye Fagan was the victor in the skills showcase after running through the gauntlet in 12.19 seconds, junior Matthew Murrell won the three-point competition narrowly over Ole Miss women's basketball junior Snudda Collins, and freshman TJ Caldwell won a show-stopping dunk-off against senior Myles Burns in the nightcap.
The Rebel women are up first in 2022-23, hosting Delta State at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss on Friday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. CT. The Ole Miss men hold their exhibition against West Georgia the following Tuesday (Nov. 1) at 6:30 p.m. CT. Both Rebel squads open the 2022-23 campaign officially on Friday, Nov. 7, with the Ole Miss women going first against Kennesaw State at 5 p.m. CT and the men to follow against Alcorn State at 8 p.m. CT – both of which will be streamed live on SECN+.
