Sabina Machalova Named to All-SEC First Team

Machalova Earns Third All-SEC Award, Second Straight First Team Plaudit
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss women's tennis No. 1 Singles and Doubles player Sabina Machalova was named to the All-SEC First Team on Wednesday. Machalova, No. 44 in the ITA Singles Rankings, automatically achieved First-Team status based on national individual rank.
Senior captain Machalova is ranked ninth among all SEC players in the ITA Singles Rankings (updated April 27) at No. 44. This season, the All SEC First-Team features the top 16 players in the conference. The top-10 ranked players placed in the First Team automatically with all other All-SEC players receiving votes from the 14 head coaches in the SEC conference.
Machlova earns her third career All-SEC honor. She was voted to the first team in 2021 and the second team in 2018.
This season Machalova has earned an overall record of 22-12 in singles and 13-16 in doubles. Her 22 singles wins leads all Ole Miss players. She has competed versus ranked players in nearly half of all singles matches, compiling a 10-8 record versus nationally ranked opponents. Machalova also earned two ranked doubles victories and ranks No. 87 alongside Rachel Krzyzak. Versus SEC opponents she earned a 7-5 record in singles and 5-7 record in doubles this season. Machalova earned the highest-ranked victory of her career this season, upsetting South Carolina's No. 2 Sarah Hamner on the road on March 27.
Machalova surpassed the 150-win milestone this season and has earned 165 combined singles and doubles victories in her Ole Miss career. The Rebel aims to qualify for the NCAA Singles Championships for the second consecutive year (draw to be released on May 3).
The Zlin, Czechia native was also voted to the SEC Community Service Team this season.
