Nikola Slavic Voted to Men’s Tennis First Team All-SEC

Ole Miss No. 1 Singles Player Ranks No. 17 in ITA National Rankings
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss men's tennis standout Nikola Slavic was named to the All-SEC First Team for the 2022 season as announced by the conference office on Thursday. Slavic receives his second All-SEC accolade after placing on the second team in 2021.
Slavic, hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, has contested among the SEC's best this season. The third-year player achieved a new career-best ITA ranking this week, placing No. 17 in Singles on Wednesday. He ranks seventh-highest among SEC student-athletes. The All-SEC First Team consists of the top-16 individual players within the conference.
Slavic leads all Ole Miss players in singles victories with 22. He has earned an overall individual record of 22-12 this season with a 15-9 record in duals. Slavic won nine of 19 matches against ranked opponents and earned four SEC victories this season.
In doubles, Slavic has earned an impressive 17-9 overall record including a 14-7 record in duals. He compiled a 6-4 record versus SEC opponents and a 1-2 record against nationally ranked pairings.
Slavic earned his highest-ranked victory of the season at the SEC Championships last week, defeating Auburn's No. 28 Tyler Stice in three sets (April 21).
The top Rebel player earned his first All-SEC First Team honor and second All-SEC plaudit of his career after being named to the All-SEC Second Team in 2021.
Individually, Slavic turns his attention toward the NCAA Singles Championships. The 64-player field will be announced next Tuesday, May 3. Slavic competed in the event last season.
