Tamburlini Concludes Day Two of NCAA Championship Tied for Sixth

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The second round of play for Ole Miss women's golf's Chiara Tamburlini was a strong one at the NCAA Championships, with Tamburlini shooting a round of 70 (-2) to move up into a tie for sixth overall.

With a two-day total that sits at 144 (E), Tamburlini now sits four strokes clear of the round four cut line, which is currently projected to be at 4-over.

Following the third round of stroke play on Sunday, the field will be cut down to the top 15 teams and top nine individuals not on an advancing team for Monday.

Tamburlini tallied three birdies and three bogeys throughout her second round of action, as well as an eagle on the par-5 No. 7, all of which took place in the first 10 holes of Tamburlini's round.

To open day two, Tamburlini connected on a pair of big birdie putts on No. 2 and No. 4, sitting at 2-under through just her opening four holes of the day. Back-to-back birdies on Holes 5 and 6 would set Tamburlini back to even. The St. Gallen, Switzerland, native bounced back by recording her first eagle of the weekend on No. 7. One last bogey on Hole 9 would see Tamburlini sitting one-under at the turn.

Transitioning to her back nine of the day, Tamburlini opened the side with yet another birdie on No. 10, before closing out her remaining eight holes of the day playing par golf. Tamburlini remains tied for third in the field in par-4 scoring, with the junior scoring 1-over on those holes.

Tamburlini will fight to make it to the fourth and final round on Sunday with day three of the NCAA Championships taking place at Grayhawk Golf Club. Tamburlini's round three tee time will take place at either 10:20 a.m. or 10:31 a.m. CT.
