Rebels Add Diamond to Their 2023 Signing Class

OXFORD, Miss – Building on the successes on this past season, head coach Marsha Beasley continues to bring top talent to Oxford. Ole Miss rifle announced Regan Diamond as the newest addition to the team and the third in the class of 2023.
 
A right-handed shooter from Keenesburg, Colorado, Diamond has performed well on the biggest stages. Just last month, Diamond competed at the Junior Rifle Olympics, scoring personal records in both smallbore and air rifle. She shot a 586 in smallbore in match one and finished with an 1161 total in two matches. Her smallbore score placed her in 16th overall in a field of 118 competitors. In air rifle, Diamond fired a 620.7 in match one and a 618.6 in match two for a total of 1239.3. She finished in 27th place out of 227 competitors. Diamond's been a Junior Olympic Qualifier the last two seasons, including two U18 gold medals in smallbore and another in air rifle for the state of Colorado.
 
Diamond started shooting competitive three-position smallbore in 2016 and competitive air rifle in 2018. The Colorado native has been highly successful with her club Cherry Creek Gun Club. Diamond won Weld County 4H smallbore Champion four straight years from 2018 to 2022. Individually was a 4H State medalist twice in 2021 and 2022. She is a two-time individual Army Marksmanship Qualifier and Silver Medalist at Fountain Fort Carson CMP 3P Camp.
 
Beyond the range, Diamond is an excellent student and participates in multiple extra curriclar activities. The incoming freshman has received an excellence award in Math, rhetoric and art while attending Weld Central High School. She's also involved in Muay Thai, art club, 4H club and was a football manager for three years.
 
"I really liked the coaches, along with the staff that I met. I also fell in love with the physics department, and it seemed like the best decision for me."
 
Diamond is the daughter of Amber and Marcus Diamond. She has one sibling her sister, Brianna. She plans to major in physics and eventually get her a Ph.D in astrophysics.
 
Diamond is set to join the Rebels next fall.
