OXFORD, Miss - The Ole Miss men's tennis program had a strong fall showing to begin the 2024-25 season under head coach Toby Hansson

Ole Miss secured 31 singles wins as a team and added 12 doubles victories to the books throughout the fall slate. Read more on that below, as well as other highlights from the Rebels' fall run.

FALL SNAPSHOT

  • Freshman duo of Matthieu Chambonniere and  Benjamin Martin were named the Houndstooth Draw doubles champions at the SEC Challenge 
  • Isac Strömberg defeated Alabama's No. 62 Andrii Zimnokh, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 to earn his first ranked win of the year
  • Noah Schlagenhauf advanced to the qualifying round of the ITA-All Americans
  • The Rebels secured four straight set wins on the opening day of the ITA Southern Regional
  • Schlagenhauf advanced to the quarterfinals round in singles at the ITA Southern Regional
  • Schlagenhauf qualified for the ITA Sectionals in Tallahassee, Fla.
  • Schlagenhauf wrapped up his fall with a 10-5 singles record 
  • Chambonniere earned a 7-3 overall singles record and a 7-2 doubles record to cap off his first fall as a Rebel
  • Freshman Loan Lestir notched four singles win in his first semester with the Rebels

SEC CHALLENGE 
The Ole Miss men's tennis program opened their fall slate at the SEC Challenge in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Rebels made some noise in doubles with the freshman duo of Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin securing the Houndstooth doubles draw title. Noah Schlagenhauf added to Ole Miss' success in singles going undefeated throughout his time in Alabama. Isac Strömberg also etched his first singles win of his junior year campaign while in Tuscaloosa. 

ITA ALL-AMERICANS
Loan Lestir, Schlagenhauf, and Strömberg represented Ole Miss in the ITA All-Americans at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. All three Rebels went undefeated to open the first round of the tournament. Lestir's win in the pre-qualifying round marked his first victory of his collegiate career. Strömberg tallied a straight set win in singles while Schlagenhauf secured three singles wins, advancing him to the qualifying round of the ITA-All Americans.

ITA SOUTHERN REGIONAL
The Rebels had a stellar outing in Baton Rouge, La. in mid-October at the ITA Southern Regional. Ole Miss opened the tournament by securing four straight set wins in singles and three doubles wins to open day one. Chambonniere captured his first ranked win of his collegiate career over LSU's No. 105 Ishaan Ravichander, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (3). The duo of Chambonniere and Schlagenhauf found success on the doubles court and advanced to the quarterfinals round in Baton Rouge, boasting an impressive 3-1 record on the weekend. 

LOOKING FORWARD
The Rebels will look to continue their success into the spring slate. The full schedule for the 2025 spring season will be announced at a later date on Ole Miss men's tennis social media and schedule page.
