Rifle Ranked No. 9 In Final Fall Rankings

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss rifle has been ranked as the No. 9 team in the country in the latest Collegiate Rifle Coaches Associations poll, as announced on Tuesday.
Ole Miss is 4-3 and coming off a come-from-behind victory against then No. 9 Ohio State. The Rebels utilized its best air rifle performance of the season to defeat the Buckeyes, 4711-4708. Freshmen Gracie Dinh and Jordan de Jesus led the charge for the Rebels that day, with Dinh claiming the top spot in the individual scoring and de Jesus going for fourth.
Dinh, de Jesus and 10-time All-American Lea Horvath have formed Ole Miss' big three, holding the top three scores in all events for the Rebels through the fall campaign. Horvath sits atop the air rifle and aggregate average for the Rebels, while Dinh is the leader in smallbore.
The Rebels best performance of the season came against No. 9 Murray State in October, when the Rebels fired a season-high 4723. In that match, Horvath shot her fourth career 600 in air rifle as the team shot the third-best smallbore team score in program history with 2358.
More recently, Dinh has had the match-high aggregate score for the Rebels in three consecutive appearances. In those meets, she's set a career high in smallbore and twice in the aggregate. Dinh and de Jesus also have also earned season highs in air rifle with 597 and 596, respectively. Both shot a 596 in the event against Ohio State.
Veterans M'Leah Lambdin, Emma Pereira and Regan Diamond have contributed valuable depth to the Rebels' lineup. Lambdin has earned a counter spot in all but two events this season and has reached the podium for smallbore, air rifle and individual aggregate scoring at least once each this season.
Diamond is just behind the trio of Horvath, Dinh and de Jesus in air rifle, averaging the fourth-most on the team at 590. She's had a season-high 594 twice so far this season, including in the last outing against Kentucky.
Susan Carter has also earned a consistent starting role for the Rebels. The freshman has shot at least 587 in air rifle in her past four appearances.
Alaska Fairbanks leads the PRC at No. 2 in the rankings. No. 4 TCU, No. 6 Air Force and No. 10 Nebraska represent the PRC in the top-10 with Ole Miss. Ohio State and UTEP are the other ranked teams in the PRC, placing 12th and 15th, respectively.
The Rebels will regroup in January to commence the spring portion of the season. Ole Miss will travel to Fairbanks, Alaska, for a four-team tournament on Jan. 17, 2025, and a three-team tournament the following day.
