Murray Has Strong Weekend in San Diego

With a total of 41 points across two games in the Rady Children’s Invitational this past week, Jaylen Murray was selected to the all-tournament team. The guard helped Ole Miss defeat BYU in their first-round game by dropping a career-best 28 points, connecting on a career-high 10 shots from the field.

In game two against No. 12 Purdue, Murray was a key part of the Rebels’ second-half surge to take a lead after an eight-point deficit at the half. While a last-second shot by the Boilermakers made it an 80-78 loss for Ole Miss, Murray finished with three clutch makes from beyond the arc and dished out nine assists.
Murray has totaled five or more assists in the last five games for Ole Miss and is averaging 4.9 per game on the season, the second-best clip in the SEC. His current average while at Ole Miss of 4.1 assists per contest ranks sixth all-time in program history.
