Men’s Tennis Drops In-State Match Against No. 13 Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The No. 56 Ole Miss men's tennis team dropped its in-state rivalry matchup against No. 13 Mississippi State, as the Rebels feels 7-0 at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
Ole Miss (9-10, 2-6 SEC) started strong on the day against Mississippi State (14-5, 6-2 SEC), as the duo of Carson Baker and John Halquist Lithen earned their twelfth win as a tandem, securing a 6-3 victory on court two.
The Bulldogs were then able to capture the doubles point though as courts one and three went to Mississippi State.
The Bulldog squad then rolled through singles play, taking straight-set wins in five of the six singles matches. Baker's hard-fought singles matchup was forced into a third set tiebreaker, but the freshman ultimately dropped on court six, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Up Next
Ole Miss will return home for a matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats, set to take place Sunday, March 31 at 1 p.m. CT at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
