Caitlyn Macnab Arnold Palmer Cup

Macnab Invited to Participate in 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup

4/23/2024 | Women's Golf

NORMAN, Okla. – Ole Miss women's golfer Caitlyn Macnab received an invitation to be a part of the International Team roster at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Tuesday.

This marks the fifth straight year that a Rebel player or coach has received an invite to the event and Macnab's second consecutive year participating.

The annual tournament, held this year in Lahinch, Ireland, features both men's and women's collegiate golfers from the United States facing off against their international counterparts in a team competition. Team USA currently leads the all-time series 14-12-1.

Macnab is the nearing the end of what has been a career year with the Rebels as the junior holds a team-leading and career-best season stroke average of 70.57 in all 10 tournaments the Rebels have played in this season. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native brought home her second career title at the Mason Rudolph Championship, along with tallying eight Top 20 finishes on the year.

Macnab has broken numerous program records including the lowest season stroke average of any Rebel in history. At the Cougar Classic, the junior also tied for the lowest 54-hole score in Ole Miss history, shooting a 203 (-10) to help lead the Rebels to their first team title in the 2023-24 season. Macnab also ties for the second most rounds in the 60s with seven so far this season.

The Johannesburg, South Africa, native is not a stranger to being nationally recognized as Macnab was named to this season's spring watch list for the ANNIKA Award and was invited to play at the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur.

The 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup is set to run July 5-7 at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland. Golf Channel coverage of the tournament is still to be announced.

Rebel men's golfer Michael La Sasso was also invited to participate in the Palmer Cup, competing for the USA Team. Ole Miss is one of only seven schools to have both a male and female golfer appear in the event.
