Men’s Tennis’ Slavic Caps Off Legendary Collegiate Career at NCAA Singles Championship

STILLWATER, Okla. - Ole Miss men's tennis fifth year Nikola Slavic finished his spectacular collegiate career as a Rebel at the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship on Tuesday. Earning an at-large selection into the postseason, Slavic traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to play for Ole Miss one last time at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
 
In the Round of 64, Slavic showed his veteran toughness by dominating UT Arlington's 110th-ranked Joan Torres Espinosa, 6-1, 6-0. The Stockholm, Sweden, native was unable to advance past the second round though, falling to TCU's No. 13 Jack Pinnington, 6-4, 6-2.
 
Across his career at Ole Miss, Slavic cemented himself as an all-time great player and person within the program accumulating numerous awards across his time in Oxford, including being named the 32nd ITA All-American in program history. 
 
The senior has also solidified himself in the Ole Miss record book, being one of only five Rebels to earn All-SEC honors four times and ranking in the Top 15 in all-time singles and doubles wins for the program.
 
Ranking as high as No. 6, Slavic sat in the in the Top 100 of the ITA singles rankings for over an astonishing two straight years and has also helped lead the Rebels to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2021. Slavic will always be remembered as a leader on and off the court and will forever go down as a Rebel legend.
