Mississippi Made: Behind the Scenes with No. 3
9/3/2024 | Soccer
OXFORD, Miss. โ Kate Smith has been a steady presence for the red and blue since her arrival in 2022. She recorded her first collegiate goal in the win over McNeese State.
Head Coach Molly Rouse on Smith:
โKate has been an awesome example of somebody whoโs put one foot in front of the other every single day and is now capitalizing on her opportunity.โ

Why Ole Miss?
โI chose Ole Miss because Iโve grown up an Ole Miss fan my whole entire life. Iโve had several family members who have played sports here. Itโs always been a dream of mine to come and play here and follow in their footsteps.โ
What do you love about your coaches and teammates?
โI love that they treat our team more like a family and every day, if Iโm having the worst day ever, I know that I can go into the locker room or on the field or into the coachโs office and I can walk out feeling better and have more wisdom and have my spirits lifted.โ
What do you love about soccer?
โI love the team I play with most. The second is the ability to compete at such a high level and be able to have these awesome achievements with my team.โ
What advice do you have for your younger self?
โTrust Godโs plan because whenever things feel like theyโre going off track, theyโre not because heโs always in control.โ
