OXFORD, Miss. – Chris Beard's Ole Miss men's basketball team is set for a key tripleheader coming up at the Sandy & John Black Pavilion—three home games in six days against three marquee opponents.
The No. 23 Rebels host SEC newcomer Texas on Wednesday at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2, then No. 1 Auburn on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN and finally No. 12 Kentucky next Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Tickets are still available for Wednesday's meeting with Texas, with just a limited quantity remaining. Longhorns in Town
Ole Miss will welcome Texas to the SJB Pavilion for the first time since the Longhorns joined the SEC. It will be the first meeting between the squads since 2018. The series dates back to 1955 and has gone 9-6 in favor of the Horns. The Longhorns have been up and down in their first year in the SEC, opening 0-3 in league play, but they have found their stride of late with ranked wins over Missouri and Texas A&M. Fans are encouraged to wear white, and the first 1,500 students to arrive will receive Funky's headbands. Click here to see all upcoming men's basketball promos.
Stripe Out the Tigers
Ole Miss will take on top-ranked Auburn, and fans will Stripe the Pavilion in red and powder blue for the tilt against the Tigers. Click here to see what color to wear on gameday! Auburn is the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation and the only undefeated team in SEC play at 6-0. While unblemished on its SEC slate, four of its wins have come by five points or less, including two-point victories over South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
Big Blue Tuesday
Kentucky is likely to be Ole Miss' sixth ranked opponent in seven games when it comes to town next Tuesday. In their first year under head coach Mark Pope, the Wildcats have perhaps the best collection of signature victories in the nation with ranked wins over Duke, Gonzaga, Florida, Mississippi State and Texas A&M. But Kentucky has shown to be beatable as well in lopsided losses to Ohio State and Georgia and enters this week on a two-game losing streak at the hands of Alabama and Vanderbilt. Fans are encouraged to wear red for the Tuesday night matchup.
