Men’s Basketball Earns Votes in Preseason AP Poll

OXFORD, Miss. – The 2025-26 basketball season is right around the corner, and excitement continues to build around the Ole Miss program as the team earned votes in the Preseason AP Poll, announced on Monday.
Earning 11 total points, Ole Miss places No. 32 in the nation.
This marks the second year in a row the program has earned preseason recognition from the AP, and just the third time in program history. To begin last season, Ole Miss was ranked No. 24 in the preseason AP Poll and climbed as high as No. 16 twice, finishing the year at No. 18. Ole Miss appeared on the preseason AP Poll once before, at No. 23 to begin the 1997-98 season.
Anticipation for the 2025-26 basketball season is high coming off a historic campaign a year ago. Head coach Chris Beard returns for year three in Oxford, after guiding Ole Miss to 24 wins and the Sweet 16 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
The new season kicks off on Monday, November 3 at 7 p.m. in the SJB Pavilion against Southeastern Louisiana. Fans can get an early look at the team during their exhibition on Sunday, October 26 at 11:30 a.m. against Saint Mary's. Admission to the exhibition game is free.
